Job Description

The SWAT Tech is primarily responsible for residential, commercial and condo Pest Control accounts, annual renewal inspections, termite control, rodent control, wildlife control and all other services when needed, effective marketing and upgrade sales of additional products and services, coordination of additional services needed, explanation of services to be rendered including treatment methods, efficient routing/scheduling of inspections, collection of fees for services rendered, customer relations, surveying customers for satisfaction, company vehicle upkeep, and ensuring office workspace utilized for the aforementioned is kept neat and clean. We are a drug free workplace.

Job Standards

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Customer Service – Responds promptly to customer needs, normally within 24 hours.
  • Communication – Listens and gets clarification, communicates internally with GNPS staff and externally with customers clearly and consistently in a timely manner
  • Attendance/Punctuality – Is consistently at work and on time. (Check-in no later than 7:30 and leaving office no later than 8:00), and arrives at first and all appointments on time.
  • Teachable – Follows instructions, responds to management direction, learns/adapts quickly. Keeps all necessary products/supplies, equipment, and paperwork on hand. 
  • Appearance – Always wearing uniform, neat and clean, well-groomed.

Education, Training, and Experience

The SWAT Tech must have previous experience in termite, pest, rodent and wildlife control inspections and solutions, including an understanding of pest, termite, rodent and wildlife management strategies, chemical applications and safety procedures, effective marketing solutions, and an understanding of sales strategies. Each SWAT Tech must complete minimum state mandated continuing education requirements annually and be proficient navigating mobile devices.

Working Conditions

Work conditions vary based on service being conducted, ranging from working in small attic spaces, to exterior applications. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This role requires driving a company owned vehicle and requires a clean driving record.

The ability to apply any and all treatments used by GNPS. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to see, talk and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The ability to use equipment such as, ladders, flashlights, drills and PPE. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision.

The SWAT Tech works in all service areas, thus requiring frequent travel and outside work. Inspections and work may necessitate crawling through attics and sub-floor crawl spaces. Minimum acceptable standards for performance are established by the SWAT Manager.

Exemption Status

Non-Exempt

Compensation is commensurate with experience in industry, typically starting at $19.00-$20.00/hr plus bonus pool after 90 days and full benefit package.
